2007

Congratulations to Ozgur Ozturk who received his PhD and joined Carnegie Institute, Stanford.

Hakan Ferhatosmanoglu received 2007 Lumley Research Award from OSU College of Engineering.

Congratulations to Guadalupe Canahuate and Mike Gibas for their awards at the 4th Midwest Database Research Symposium. Guadalupe's work is chosen as the most novel, and Mike's work is chosen as the most promising research.

 


2006

Database Lab, in collaboration with Profs. Agrawal, Bedford, and Li has been awarded $1.4M by NSF to develop a data-intensive cyberinfrastructure component for environmental monitoring applications.

Dr. Ferhatosmanoglu has received an NSF CAREER Award. His 5-year project is titled "Exploration of Dynamic Sequences in Scientific Databases". Dr. Ferhatosmanoglu was also a recipient of DOE Early Career Award.

Database group attended the 3rd Midwest Database Research Symposium and presented 5 posters. The symposium was very enjoyable and educational, and a great opportunity to interact with fellow midwestern researchers.

Ozgur Ozturk has received the OSU Outstanding Graduate Student Award which celebrates students who have made outstanding contributions to The Ohio State University in the areas of leadership, scholarship, and service.
